Join our Full Day Istanbul Old City Tour and explore the most famous landmarks of the Historic Peninsula. This full-day experience takes you through the rich Byzantine and Ottoman history of Istanbul while discovering the city’s most iconic monuments with a professional guide.
The tour starts in Sultanahmet Square, the historical center of the old city. Our first stop is the famous Hagia Sophia (exterior visit), one of the most remarkable buildings in the world. Built in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian I, Hagia Sophia served as the largest cathedral for centuries. Over time it became a mosque, later a museum, and today it functions again as a mosque. During the exterior explanation, our guide will share the fascinating history and architectural importance of this legendary monument.
We then visit the beautiful Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), one of Istanbul’s most recognizable landmarks. Built in the early 1600s during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I, the mosque is famous for its thousands of blue İznik tiles and six elegant minarets. The interior decoration and unique atmosphere make it one of the most impressive examples of Ottoman architecture.
Our journey continues to the historic Hippodrome of Constantinople, which once served as the social and sporting center of the Byzantine capital. In ancient times it hosted chariot races and large public gatherings. Today visitors can still see monuments such as the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column, and the Walled Obelisk.
After a lunch break at a local restaurant, we continue to Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. Located between the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn, the palace offers impressive courtyards, imperial halls, treasury collections, and sacred relics that reflect the power and lifestyle of the Ottoman Empire.
The tour ends at the famous Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı), one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. With more than 4,000 shops, the bazaar is a lively place where visitors can explore traditional crafts, carpets, ceramics, jewelry, spices, leather goods, and souvenirs.

Hagia Sophia (Exterior Visit & Historical Explanation)
Built in 537 AD by Emperor Justinian I, Hagia Sophia is one of the most significant monuments in world history. During the exterior visit, your guide will explain its architectural importance and its transformation from cathedral to mosque, museum, and mosque again — reflecting Istanbul’s rich cultural layers.
Blue Mosque (Interior Visit)
Officially known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, this 17th-century masterpiece is famous for its six minarets and stunning blue İznik tiles. Inside, visitors experience the harmony of Ottoman architecture, elegant domes, and peaceful ambiance.
Hippodrome of Constantinople
The former social and sporting center of Byzantine Constantinople. Once hosting chariot races and imperial ceremonies, today it displays historic monuments such as the Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpent Column, and Walled Obelisk.
Lunch Break
A relaxing lunch at a local restaurant offering traditional Turkish cuisine. Guests can enjoy authentic flavors and recharge before continuing the historical exploration.
